Not every weekend deserves a wrap-up blog post, but this past one definitely does. And, as you might be able to tell from the title, I just discovered the new A Beautiful Mess photo app, so all of the photos in this post are going to be all snazzi-fied. (If you use instagram or like apps, you should definitely add this one to your collection stat; it’s awesome!)
Now when I send “weirdo wife” photos to Josh throughout the day I can add doodles and words! And, since food is everyone’s most shameless and willing photo shoot participant, I can also make my random pictures of celery worthy of the glossy magazines. Don’t ask me which magazine… but my celery photo spread would totally make it. What can I say? We buy the new-agey celery.
So, back to this past weekend. Being Memorial Day weekend and all, Josh and I found ourselves with 24 extra hours of awesome. The thing about normal weekends is that by the time you recover from the grueling week, it’s already Saturday night. Most times, you don’t even get to utilize your full weekend. Boo! So, this past weekend, we took advantage.
By organizing the office!! Yeah, remember this post from back in January where we said we were finally tackling the office? Well, we did and then without so much as a blink it was a disaster again. (See above). But I pulled everything out of the two closets in there, really evaluated everything and now it is liveable. There are still a couple of tasks to be done but mostly, it’s done!! Oh, and that picture on the right? Well, that’s the result of me combing through my high school scrapbook. Yes, that is me in the princess hat apparently about to attack my poor friend with a crazed-braced grin. Ohhh man. (By the way, it is worth mentioning that we were at Medieval Times, so the princess hat and crowns were not completely out of place.)
After the office shaped up, I tackled an awesome craft project that’s been on my “For Real You Should Do This” list for months. Just a hint: I made crazy cool art out of moving supplies! I can’t wait to share it with you!
And lastly, I bring you to the coup de grace of the weekend. Appliances… lovely, shiny new appliances. After a horrible week trying to fix our current washer (and hauling every towel we own drenched in water to the laundry mat, we bought a new washer and dryer. And, y’all, we scored these at a mega-discount! They’ll be here next week and I’ll share a whole detail post then, but in the mean time, I’ll just be here staring at the gorgeous-ness headed our way!!
