So, we’re in our final year at apartment 816. Our lease ends in June of next year and at that time we’ll almost definitely be moving into a house (to buy or rent is still undetermined). But, even though I know we’re not staying in our current apartment for much longer, I can’t bear to let a room go untouched. And right now, that room is our guest bathroom.
With the exception of the shower curtain, no effort has been put into this space. No art, no styling, nothing. In fact this “room” is the least visited area of our home. Obviously, we wouldn’t hang out in here because, uh, it’s a bathroom. But still. It’s primary function is serving as a space for me to get ready for work in the morning. Which means, at any given time, you’re likely to find make up and hair styling tools strewn about the vanity.
With our time here winding down, I want to put some real effort into this space. Even if it’s just to spice up my morning routine a little bit. What were working with is almost a carbon copy of our master bathroom with a slightly different orientation. Another small, beige box. Obviously, no demo or even paint work is allowed, so most adapations will be purely cosmetic, but I do have some fun ideas.
Here’s what’s on the docket:
- Add bright colorful art to balance out the lack of natural light
- Organize cabinets and drawers
- Possibly add some thrifted mint shelves I found this summer
- Create a magnetic chalkboard for vanity to organize makeup
- Create an overnight guest basket to have on hand
- Add style with fun accessories
Do you have a room in your home that has totally been ignored? Which room is it? I’m curious to know!!
